The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services is the lead child welfare agency for the state of Georgia. DFCS recruits, develops, and supports foster homes throughout the state. DFCS foster parents are dedicated to caring for children and their families and supporting reunification efforts.
Bethany Christian Services provides foster care and foster care adoption services to families in Georgia to help provide stability and care for children placed in state custody until permanency is achieved through reunification or adoption.
Bloom provides support, resources, and placement for more than 6,800 foster children in Georgia. Bloom also provides tools and resources for at-risk birth families and foster families, so they can serve the children in their care to the highest level.
Creative Community Services is a therapeutic foster care agency that serves youth with the highest needs around the state of Georgia. In partnership with DFCS, therapists, and birth families, CCS foster families work with CCS' highly trained team to achieve each child's permanency goals.
For more than 8 decades, Elks Aidmore has addressed the needs of youth and families in crisis by providing the necessary skills and resources to help heal their hearts, restore their hopes, and rebuild their lives.
Uniting Hope is a faith-centered nonprofit that recruits, trains and encourages foster families. Uniting Hope desires to place children in safe, loving homes and believes this is best accomplished through partnering with local believers and churches.
Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries is a Christian caring ministry of services designed to promote the spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being of children, youth, and families.
Nightlight Christian Adoptions provides foster care services from foster parent inquiry all the way to foster child permanency. Nightlight works with both the foster family and the foster child to secure permanency through reunification or adoption.
Families 4 Families is a faith-based, private foster care agency committed to connecting local churches with loving families to care for children in Georgia’s foster system.
As an agency of The United Methodist Church in North Georgia, Wellroot provides faith-centered service and trauma-informed care. With a focus on supporting youth from infancy through early adulthood, they help individuals – and their support systems – reach their God-given potential through the encouragement and love of a healthy home and community.
Moms Adopting Moms exists to offer advice, encouragement, mentorship, and resources to biological mothers (and dads when possible) who are doing everything in their power to reunify with their children and thrive post reunification. We believe in strong life-long mentorship relationships between foster/kinship moms and biological moms which leads to a win for everyone involved - especially the children.
Administered by foster parents in partnership with the Division of Family and Children Services, The Five Hive connects Region 5 foster families and provides a strong peer support network. Through a variety of initiatives, The Five Hive serves the Region 5 foster care community and address persistent challenges by focussing on placement, family support, community engagement, and region unity.
Chosen for Life Ministries is a foster care and adoption support ministry. We help churches, families, and communities care well for foster and adoptive children. Through the support of care teams, Care Portal, community, and educational events, our goal is to strengthen foster and adoptive families and engage the community in the needs of child welfare.
Athens-Oconee CASA is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care in Clarke and Oconee Counties. We work with the community, DFCS, the juvenile judicial system, educational professionals, and service providers to ensure healthy outcomes for children experiencing foster care. CASA volunteers are specially trained adults appointed by the court to improve a child’s foster care experience.
The Multi-Agency Alliance for Children (MAAC) is a collaborative effort focused on serving youth in foster care with high-end behavioral health needs. Serving more than 1,000 youth each month, MAAC is dedicated to filling service gaps and building innovative solutions by collaborating with ten core partner agencies and providing care coordination services that address placement, self-sufficiency, crisis recovery, and more.
Run by foster parents and located in each county, AFPAs offer a local support network to adoptive, foster and kinship Families, provide trainings related to family needs within the Foster Care community, connect families to local resources, and offer social opportunities for parents and children. AFPA news and Facebook links are shared regularly by The Five Hive.
Looking Ahead
Home in 5 membership is available to all organizations serving children and families engaged in child welfare services and the agencies supporting them. This includes DFCS, government agencies and programs, child placing agencies, child caring institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community partners. Membership for 2026 will open on November 15, 2025. All completed MOUs and dues for 2026 are due by January 31, 2026.
