Foster Care in Georgia provides temporary, safe, and nurturing homes for children who have been removed from their families due to abuse, neglect, or other safety concerns. The primary goal is to reunify children with their families whenever possible, or to find permanent, loving homes through adoption or guardianship when reunification isn't feasible. As of late 2024, Georgia had approximately 10,900 children in Foster Care.

800+ Children
400+ Foster Homes
But: Only 20% of youth get to stay in their county - at their school, with their friends, near their family.
There are not enough homes for the other 80% to stay in our community. We need more Foster Homes. And so, if you have an extra bed, we need YOU!
It takes 10 steps to provide a safe and loving home to a child. And so, if you are up for the wild ride that is Adoption and Foster Care, check out the Assessment and Licensing How to How To Guide.
